Cleaning – Like You’ve Never Seen it Before

We’ve all seen the ads right? On one side of a set of French doors is a smug looking woman with a Karcher Window Vac and on the other side is an equally smug looking male with a traditional bucket and sponge. Who will clean the windows faster and with less streaks? Of course the smug woman knows that anything will clean faster and better than a bucket and sponge and the man is left defeated and in awe of his oh-so-clever partner. But annoying advert aside – does the Karcher WV60 really live up to its reputation?

It Cleans Windows Then Does Magic Stuff

It actually sucks windows clean. Yes you heard me right, it’s not called a Karcher Window Vac for nothing. It sucks excess water from your window to leave it bone dry and streak free. It comes with a separate spray bottle set and micro-fibre cloth to actually clean the windows the old fashioned way; with water and cleaning fluid. The magic is in the suction head which is then used to suck up all the dirty water. No more scrubbing the windows with scrunched up newspaper in an effort to clear away all the streaks – or was that just me?

It’s battery powered so you don’t have to wrestle with cords and works with a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery which claims to clean 45-60 metres square of windows (around 45 standard windows) on a single charge.

What do the Reviews Say?

Well you’re reading one of them! Most customers say that the Karcher Window Vac has cleaned up the competition, it’s wiped the windows clean with them, it’s come out smelling of clean windows, it’s the bright star of window vacs – you get the picture. They all seem really happy.

The ergonomics of the WV60 is praised, as is its ease of use and the results it leaves behind. In fact some customers are so taken with it that they are using the Karcher Window Vac in other areas of their lives where they may need a little suction power. No, not THAT area of their lives you filthy animal – I’m talking about using it to clean laptop screens, cars, mirrors, kitchen cupboards, worktops, tiles – even around fireplaces. It seems that once you start cleaning with the Window Vac you just can’t stop!

Wow – You Have Me Convinced, Where Can I Buy One?

Hold your horses! I haven’t finished yet. No product is perfect and like all gadgets, it does take a bit of trial and error.
Here are my tips to get the most out of your Karcher WV60:

  • Make sure it’s fully charged before you start cleaning the entire house. It does have a charge indicator but once it starts to run low it can cut out halfway through cleaning a window and it takes around 2-3 hours to charge which feels like a long time when you are staring at a half-cleaned window.
  • Don’t let the cleaning solution dry. The trick is to squeeze a little onto the window, give it a wipe and then immediately use the Window Vac. So if you are doing large patio doors, do a little at a time.
  • It does need to be assembled. This is actually easier than you would think on first looking at the rather confusing images and instructions so don’t be put off.
  • Do note that once you have sparkling windows, every time a child puts their grubby mitts anywhere near one of your shiny surfaces you do experience an Incredible Hulk type moment as your normally calm exterior and composure is shattered and the child is traumatised for life. But at least they won’t make the same mistake again!

Overall, whilst it’s much more expensive than a bottle of cleaning fluid, a micro fibre cloth and some scrunched up newspaper, you can’t really fault the Karcher Window Vac. It’s easy to use, it actually does what it promises and it turns even the laziest of slobs into house proud cleaning freaks.

  • At 1.1kg and just 38.5 x 57 x 35.3 cm, it’s light and compact for effortless cleaning.
  • More than just a window cleaner – it can be used to clean screens, mirrors, worktops… the list is endless.
  • Leaves windows bone dry and streak-free with its impressive sucker – also known as a vacuum.
  • Cordless for stress free cleaning and easy access.
  • Each charge can clean an area up to 45-60m2.
